Melissa Firman is the author of the new novel Extractions. It's a story about a young woman who is trying to find her place in the world. She's lost her job, her boyfriend, and her apartment. She's feeling lost and alone. But then she meets a man who tells her that she has a special gift. He says that she can extract memories from people.
At first, she's skeptical. But then she tries it and it works. She can extract memories from anyone she touches. She can see their past, their present, and their future. She can see their hopes and their dreams. She can see their fears and their secrets. She can see everything.
But with this gift comes a great responsibility. She must use her power wisely. She must help people, not hurt them. She must use her power for good, not for evil.
I had the opportunity to interview Melissa Firman about her new novel Extractions. Here's what she had to say:
Q: What inspired you to write Extractions?
A: I was inspired to write Extractions by a dream I had. In the dream, I was a young woman who could extract memories from people. I could see their past, their present, and their future. I could see their hopes and their dreams. I could see their fears and their secrets. I could see everything.
I woke up from the dream feeling very inspired. I knew that I had to write a story about this young woman. I wanted to explore the possibilities of what she could do with her gift. I wanted to see how she would use her power to help people.
Q: What was the most challenging part of writing Extractions?
A: The most challenging part of writing Extractions was finding the right balance between the fantasy and the reality. I wanted the story to be believable, but I also wanted it to be exciting and imaginative. I think I found a good balance between the two, but it was definitely a challenge.
Q: What do you hope readers will take away from Extractions?
A: I hope readers will take away from Extractions a sense of hope and possibility. I hope they will see that anything is possible if you believe in yourself. I also hope they will be inspired to use their own unique gifts and talents to make the world a better place.
Q: What are you working on now?
A: I'm currently working on a new novel. It's a sequel to Extractions. I'm really excited about it, and I can't wait to share it with readers.
